Blindfold: As opined by Dr. Maria Montessori, the hand is the chief teacher of
the child. With blindfolds on, the child can the object with his bare hand and
can make an abstract idea of the object actually is. A blindfold helps to
refine the sense of touch and feel of the child.
Montessori Constructive Triangles with 5 boxes: It is for children between 4 to 5
years of age. The main purpose behind carrying out this activity is to make the
children realize that the equilateral triangle can further be divided into
other types of triangles. Thus it helps the children to prepare for geometry.
Nuts and Bolts: The nut and bolt activity is a very interesting activity for the
children. The children are required to screw and unscrew the nuts and the
bolts.
Scale: It is generally a balancing scale the main purpose of which is to
demonstrate the children that different objects have different weights while
some objects have same objects. It therefore teaches the children the meaning
of weights as well as spread awareness about the different kinds of the shapes
and sizes.
Tasting Exercises: This activity is carried out for children between 3 to 3 ½ years of
age. This activity is to make the child aware of the four different kinds of
tastes namely; sweet, sour, salty and bitter. Thus the child can distinguish
between different tastes.
Pressure Cylinders: the primary objective of this exercise is to match the wooden
coloured piston tubes with the black ones of the same pressure.
